  • RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch 21

    Fri 29 Jan 2021

This weekend is the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and Miss Mogford would love for you to get involved as part of your Forest School activities. We suggest you spend one hour this weekend recording which birds you can see in your own garden.

The RSPB website has lots of ideas on how to spot the birds and know what type of bird they are, how to attract them to your garden, what to feed them and much much more!

Please send us your photos of any bird feeders you make or just you spotting the birds.

  • Trail of Hope

    Thu 28 Jan 2021

Hopefully by now, you will have seen Mrs Hillson's assembly from Monday, if not the link is below.

Mrs Hillson shared the book 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' by Charlie Makesy. She looked at her favourite pictures and quotes with you. We thought it would be rather lovely for you all to create your own pictures and quotes, which we could put up around the community to spread hope and positivity for everyone to see and give them a smile.

Since the assembly Mrs Hillson has shared some of your pictures with the author/illustrator Charlie Makesy and he replied and said 'Gosh those are incredible,I love them, Thank you, Please say well done to them all '

Please make sure you hand your pictures in to us by Friday 29th January so we can start displaying them around the town next week and spread some fun to the rest of our community.

  • Laptop provision

    Thu 21 Jan 2021

With so much of our home-learning being delivered virtually, providing children with access to the internet is key to their success. It is also vitally important for their wellbeing to continue to develop their relationships with their teachers and classmates during this online learning period. We have recently received some laptops from the government which we are delighted to have allocated to our families in need, including those who have more than one child or significant difficulties accessing their online learning.

We have a small number of laptops remaining and would be happy to support more families if access to devices is challenging. This may be due to difficulties accessing online learning or needing more than one device due to having more than one child at the school). Please get in touch if you feel we can support you.

  • Food hampers

    Thu 21 Jan 2021

There has been a lot in the media about the food hampers being provided by schools for Free School Meal children. At Willowbank we are very proud of how we are supporting our families and as you can see our kitchen staff do us proud with our weekly hamper! It is amazing and our parents are all so grateful.

We also have a foodbank for families not receiving Free School Meals but needing some extra support during these difficult times. If you need any help please speak to Mrs Stephens, our Family Support Worker.
