  • Thank you to the 'Friends of Willowbank' for purchasing Dyslexia Friendly Books for our SEND children.

Tue 21 Jun 2022 Haidee Frost

The school are incredibly grateful for the wonderful fundraising that has taken place in order to purchase this selection of books specifically for our SEND children with dyslexia.  These books help our pupils through having extra spacing between lines, coloured pages and preferred fonts.  They are books that are all in our Accelerated Reader programme and by authors the children love to read.

Thank you to all the Friends of Willowbank for supporting our SEND children once more!

  • Beach Soccer 2022 - WINNERS

    Mon 20 Jun 2022

We end the week WINNERS of the Beach Soccer 2022 tournament!

We took 18 Year 5 and 6 children to Croyde Bay in North Devon for the 2022 Beach Soccer tournament hosted by Exeter City Community Trust and Premier League Primary Stars.

After playing a series of qualifying games in the heat on what was the hottest day of the year so far on sand (which is a lot harder then you think) our team won the plate final and walked away with an impressive trophy.

We had the pleasure of meeting and getting a picture with Hannah and Connie Short, England Women Beach Soccer players.

Well done to all children who took part - it was such a lovely day.

  • Coastal Walk trips

    Mon 20 Jun 2022

Last week our 4 KS1 classes each took in turns to visit South Devon to take part in a Coastal Walk led by David Glenny.

Tadpoles and Caterpillars had lots of fun during their beach trip. Walking along the coast, waving at steam trains and rolling down the hill (lots of times) before reaching the cove. Whilst at the cove, they threw pebbles in the water, discovered a variety of crabs when rock pooling and climbed the rocks before lunch. After lunch, they walked to Broadsands beach where they paddled, found even more crabs,  a fish, drew in the sand, created sculptures and covered their feet in the wet sand.
