Roving Reporters

Willowbank were proud to host the first meeting of the Central Hub roving reporting team. The event took place on Wednesday 6th March, in Willowbank's brand new meeting room. The team is made of up of 20 talented Year 5 writers from the Central hub schools (Willowbank, Westcliff, Rockbeare, Lady Seaward's and Chudleigh Knighton).

During the session, the children looked at formal and informal styles of writing and gathered information to create their own news items. They worked incredibly hard to draft, edit and and record their own work and the teachers supporting them were amazed by their writing skills. We definitely have some budding journalists in Central Hub.

The day resulted in the production of the first edition of Central Hub newsletter and and the first broadcast from Central Hub radio.

This proved to be a hugely successful day and Willowbank are looking forward to hosting our next meeting.
