Wow! We can't believe it is March already and of course, St David's Day.

We hope you had a lovely weekend and made the most of the sunshine - maybe playing in the garden or enjoying a run outside.

This is our last week of home learning before we return next Monday so do enjoy the baking we have planned for you in our curriculum this afternoon - don't forget to send us in pictures of your ration recipes being put to use.

We were blown away by our discussion's around 'The Piano' and are looking forward to building on and developing our writing skills and writing about our own memories including a flashback!

Today, for PE, you have 3 different cricket skills to develop - practise these skills and share your highest score with Miss Gibbs who will enter your score into the Devon Cricket County competition. It would be great to get Willowbank on the leaderboard!

What a fantastic start we had to this half term yesterday - you all demonstrated such creativity when designing your dots (they looked incredible in 3D form).

Monday 22nd February

We hope you have all had a wonderful half term and feel refreshed and ready for the start of the new half term! Let us know how many of the bingo challenges you managed to complete!

Today at Willowbank (and across the Federation), we are celebrating our Ethos Day. The theme for the day is achieve and is based upon the book ‘The Dot’ which Mrs Hillson shared in this morning’s assembly.

You have made it - the first half of the Spring Term is complete! You should feel immensely

You have officially completed another half term of home learning – you should feel very proud of yourselves. Next week is half term – relax, have fun and make the most of the sun!

Check out the PE page under ‘At Home Learning’ to find out information about the Devon Summer School Games - The #DevonVirtualGames will run from the 18th May 2020 – 13th July 2020 with six different events for you to enter. There will be medals, certificates, and prize categories for each event.

This week seems to have flown by!

Blue Peter are giving you the chance to earn your 2020 Sport Badge. All you have to do is try a new sport or physical activity, such as dancing using an online dance tutorial, or learning a new skill such as skipping. It must be something you haven't done before.

Have you seen that Miss Mogford has added new outdoor learning activities? We love the idea of going on a colour scavenger hunt. Look out of your window, in your garden or during your daily exercise to see if you can find any flowers or wildlife in the following colours: red, yellow, blue, brown, white, and green. Take a photograph or draw what you find.

We really enjoyed reading the similes and metaphors you came up with for English yesterday.

Miss Gibbs loved seeing how determined the children in school were whilst completing their PE – we hope you all pushed yourselves at home too.

We have had another busy weekend. We both enjoyed our daily exercise of walking and running. Mrs Sullivan spent time building lego models and Miss Gibbs practised her baking skills.

Good morning Year 6,

We hope you have had a wonderful weekend, we certainly have. Both of us completed a 5k (3.1miles) run and donated £5 to the NHS, we then challenged 5 of our friends to get involved. As part of your PE this week – can you have a go at running 5k?

We have also enjoyed some baking and making the most of the fresh air. Below are a couple of pictures of our weekend – it would be great if you could share photos of your weekend with us.

We have been enjoying reading lots of books whilst we’re at home – what books have you read since we started our home learning? Can you recommend any for us to read?

To keep yourselves entertained, you could create a ‘to be read’ or ‘to be watched’ jar.

• Pull a book/film out of the jar.
• Read the book or watch the film.

Good morning Year 6,

We hope you have settled back into the routine nicely and you enjoyed watching the Broken: Rock, Paper, Scissors animation for English. Can you think of a game with the same concept of rock, paper, scissors involving different objects?

The photos of parachutes that we have been sent look incredible – hopefully they fulfilled the brief and helped a lego figure/small toy to land safely.

Good morning Year 6,

We hope you had a wonderful Easter break and didn’t eat too much chocolate.

The weather has been amazing and we’ve made the most of spending time in the garden, hopefully you have too.

Although it was nice to have some time away from learning, we are excited to get back into our routine and seeing all of the lovely things you get up to across the week (we have missed this during the holidays).

We would love to see the different activities you have been up to: baking, in the garden, being creative, as well as your learning.

We will continue to upload chapters from Pig Heart Boy daily, keep listening to see how similar the story is to the television programme we watched.
